05 June 2025

Today, on June 4, 2025, the Harry Gwala District celebrates the successful installation of a borehole system that will serve the rural areas of eButateni in Ward 05, under Johannes Phumani Phungula Local Municipality, within the Harry Gwala District.
On the 14th of February 2025, The Mnisi Holdings' Board of directors, Inkosi Mkhize of the Embo Traditional Council, Izinduna and the Harry Gwala District leaderships, conducted a successful borehole Handover of the respective area. The initiative entailed a collaboration between local government, traditional leadership, and private sectors.
Today marks the final stage of the project where Mrs. Mbali Ndlovu, managing director of Msinsi Holdings, gave a brief presentation to the community, assuring them that the project is complete and they will install fencing around the borehole to provide protection and safeguard the flow of water. She shared that the fencing is directly funded by Msinsi Holdings and is done in-house as there are no service providers contracted.
This project will offer relief to the rural communities of Harry Gwala District as it continues to thrive for better water and sanitation services. Ideally it focuses on eradicating water challenges that affect the livelihoods of the community.
Prominent delegates such as Cllr Sibongiseni Mdunge Speaker of Harry Gwala District Municipality alongside Cllr Simphiwe Bekwa of Exco Member and leadership of Harry Gwala District. Together with Inkosi Mkhize, Deputy Mayor Cllr .Z L Miya of JPP Local Municipality were celebrating with the community and shared a few words pleading the members of eButani to protect and use it efficiently.
Cllr. Mdunge asked the community to ensure that they kept the infrastructure of the borehole safe.
“This infrastructure belongs to the community. Therefore, it should be kept safe by the community. We don't expect to see the fencing being vandalised. It's your responsibility to make sure it stays safe,” said Speaker Mdunge.
